'Muzakio' will be the first in a series of similar comparison-type books. This series' second work will delve into the mythological conflict that might be said to exist between 'clean' and 'dirty'. This similarly written and illustrated work will be constructed around an imaginative and pristine ecosystem that is being threatened . . . and thus suggestively--polluted. My working title for this is: The Wind and the Rocks.
Status: Muzakio is roughly 75% complete. I am now focused primarily on writing. Secondarily, my focus gravitates towards developing the work's illustrations. For the sake of efficiency, as many changes are apt to occur, this development is taking place within the bounds of a monochromatic palette. All the illustrations will eventually be rendered in full color.
About its genre, Muzakio might be recognized as either a graphic novel or as a picture book. Elevating it from a simple children's story to one that aspires to serious literature would be its designed capacity to entertain the child within us all.
During my youth, my father and I engaged in spirited discussions from time to time about what approach I might take towards my succeeding in a professional capacity. For example, my father (who at the time was a prominent engineer and production manager), firmly questioned my then-budding resolve to attend the Chicago Art Institute. Muzakio, in its whimsical fashion, is about the very early stages of this universal conflict that most families confront when their children make a start of deciding what approach they might take to becoming healthy, wealthy and wise.
